Eventful

Just thought I'd share my past weekend with you all. It was quite eventful!

James would like to thank everyone who came and supported the club night on Saturday. They were able to raise $1000 for WaterAid and had a few hundred people in attendance. Looks like they may be doing more events like this in the future. And if you donated money and ended up winning one of the gift bags with our shirt inside from the raffle, congrats! You got free swag AND good karma comin' your way.

Unfortunately, my computer didn't have such a fun weekend. Out of nowhere, my monitors would simply not turn on.

Well, thur's yer prawblum! Apparently, the fan stopped working so everything got super hot and just exploded. Anyone down for video card baseball?

On Saturday, my girlfriend and I got a chance to experience the California Adventure theme park for $FREE.99 - big thanks to Charlotte for hooking it up with passes!

Need a special, custom-made Christmas or birthday present for your loved one? Hit up my lovely Jaimee at MADEBYMEE.COM! :)

Sunny place for shady people.

Wait a second, I thought I was in Anaheim!

Now we're in Hollywood?!

I highly recommend that if you go to California Adventure, make sure you see the Aladdin musical. It's awesome and hilarious!

The "imagineers" at Disney never cease to amaze me. Their attention to detail and over-the-top ideas always create lifelong memories and set new standards for entertainment, animation, and design.

I like Christmas. Cold weather and quality time with loved ones. Nothin' better.

Toy Story!

In his spare time, Nick reads glowing books.

Collectibles.

That's all she wrote.

On Sunday, we had to re-shoot all of our product for our new online retailer. We'll be announcing the new online retailer for the new year along with an exclusive release. Watch out! 2009, here we come!

Water Aid

If you like having a good time for a good cause, we'll be at the Aqualounge this Saturday December 20th in support of WaterAid and this year's Christmas Jam. A portion of the proceeds of the event will be donated to WaterAid to help children around the world who aren't as fortunate as we are. If you're not into dancing, there will also be live performances by a few bands including our friends The Clear and Conscious and Jimmy Kane. And if you don't like dancing or good music, you can get a free dessert with a dinner entree and just want the go-go dancers. DAM.IT will also be there shooting photos of the event.

Doors open at 7PM and the event is 21+ and upscale attire is required, so dress accordingly! Come hang out, it's going to be a good time for a good cause.

Bridging Gaps

Who says metalheads can't have steez, too?

Big thanks to Karl (MISERY SIGNALS) for always being down to support and help us out! He's been sporting our tees and spreading the word about L&O all over the world, literally, and we can't thank him enough! Check out the video of them playing a huge festival in Japan:

What we love about Karl is that he's helping us accomplish one of the goals we've always tried to achieve, which is to bridge the gap between streetwear / skate fashion and punk, hardcore, and metal. In theory, there should have never been a gap between them anyway, but as we all know it's been a hip-hop-dominated industry for a long time. As you can see from the photo and Misery Signal's music, Karl is the perfect example of that gap being bridged.

We're just here to bring back the noise.

Once again, thanks to Karl and the Mis Sigs guys! You can check out Karl's feature in Revolver Magazine. It should be the latest issue, I think.

Oh yeah, BIG UPDATES COMING SOON.
Seriously.

Live LOUD

As you may have heard, our band DEAR LIFE has parted ways with our vocalist, Kevin Castellon. You can read the full press release over at our page. You'll also notice that we are currently writing new music which also needs new vocals. If you are a vocalist and might be interested in giving it a shot, please be sure to contact us!

Anyway, we're really excited to be writing music again. It has been over 2 years since we started recording our debut full length and much longer since we've written new music. It has been a breath of fresh air to say the least. The sound is definitely much more mature, and definitely heavier and more melodic at the same time. With the music industry in the hideous state that it's in right now, we decided to just do what feels right and simply write music that excites us instead of worrying how everyone else feels.

We already feel so jaded with 5 years under our belt as a band, yet we're still so young in our early twenties. Matt is still 19 and we've already come to the point where we're tired of dealing with industry standards and trying to fit in with what's "cool". All we can hope for is that there are still people out there who believe that a song with meaning and feeling is a song well written. People who still believe that there is some sort of substance in music.

I guess we'll find out.

We're actually playing a FREE show this Friday at the Slidebar in Fullerton, CA so if you are 21+ and just want to have a good time, come hang out and rage with us! We'll be mixing it up with some cover songs so you better not miss out on that! We'll also be playing an all ages show on Saturday in Downey, CA at Ignite.

We apologize for the lack of updates! We've all just been busy with other facets of our lives lately. Don't worry though, we have some big things in store for the end of this year and the beginning of the next. With the new year comes new opportunities. Stay tuned!

In the meantime, is anyone stoked about tonight? Should be a good one.

Change Has Come. Again.

If you've been following us for the past couple weeks, you may be thinking, "Hey, it's Monday. Where's Case 2?" Well here's your answer and explanation:

Another BIG OPPORTUNITY has popped up for us and seeing as how we've always been the ones to seize the day, we're going to take it and run with it. We still have no idea what the hell we're doing, of course. Never have and probably never will, according to industry standards. What we do know is that we've always been at our best when we "shoot from the hip", so to speak. Basically, when an opportunity arises, we simply go with it and look forward to the possibilities that could come from it. No regrets. Just live and learn.

With that being said, we have rearranged our WINTER 08 release. I know, just when you thought we had confused you enough. Well, it's a little simpler now. With the BIG OPPORTUNITY on the horizon, we will be releasing WINTER 08 in a 'quickstrike' format. It basically means that we're just going to release random shit whenever we want and you gotta keep up! You gotta check back often to find out, or you might miss out!

What's so awesome about this BIG OPPORTUNITY? Glad you asked. Well, essentially it will help our brand grow. We've come to a point where we feel like we need a big growth spurt, and now this BIG OPPORTUNITY has come around and we have the chance to be a big kid too. We have a chance to break through and do something bigger and better than we've ever imagined. It's going to be a big step for us, that's for sure. A lot of 'big' goin' on.

We thank you for your patience and your ongoing support as we can continue to grow and mature right before your very eyes. You are watching, firsthand, as we figure out all the ridiculousness that makes up the apparel industry. Crazy right? Over the last year, you've watched us grow from nothing to something. Nowhere to somewhere. Stick by us because we won't stop until we're EVERYWEAR.

Zing.

And if you were wondering, yes, we did build a bonfire using the insides of an old washing machine. It was very warm and we made s'mores. It was a very fitting end to our Thanksgiving feast. Feel free to try it out when your family gets a new washer and dryer.

p.s. 2009 is going to be loopy!
