Going on a Rampage!

We recently hooked up with DJ Rampage (Omarion and Marques Houston's official DJ). He'll be going on tour in the Caribbean with J. Holiday in November. Here's a little video he put together for us before he heads out to the Caribbean, Italy, France, and the world!

We are so blessed to be in the company of good people. Thanks DJ Rampage!

Ebb & Flow

First off, I apologize about the lack of blog updates for the past few days. Our screen printing company Glad Rags Ink has been slammed with print orders for our clientele and it has been hard for me to keep up with writing blogs. Sometimes, it feels like there are not enough hours in the day, but I'm going to do my best to find time to keep all of you updated on our daily happenings. Anyway, enough of my crying.

Last weekend, we had the pleasure of having Karl Schubach (Misery Signals) visit our side of town. For the past few months, Misery Signals has been filming footage and interviews for an upcoming full-length movie documentary about the band. The movie spans varying topics including their beginnings, life-altering events, touring around the world, writing new music, and all the other tomfoolery that goes along with being in a band with your best friends. The best part about the movie is that it's not like every other band DVD, where you would only enjoy it if you were a fan of the band. The movie is very professionally filmed and edited in a way that anyone can learn and enjoy. At times, the movie even pulled at my heartstrings a little bit. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll shit your pants.

Karl was in town to finish some of the interviews for the movie, so luckily we were able to lace him up with the L&O Fall 09 collection just in time for filming. Since Karl has been with L&O ever since our inception, he's got quite a collection of his own and I can honestly say that L&O is well represented in the movie. He ended up staying with us for the weekend and fortunately we had the chance to visit Pivotal Post in North Hollywood and view the screening of the first cut of the movie.

We also had a chance to meet Marcus De Leon and Andy Morrish, the brains behind the film, and discuss key points of the movie so far. They followed the band while they were on tour all over the world for the past few months gathering footage and information about the band and interviewing family and friends.

It was a cool experience to see how real directors, producers, editors, and cinematographers work and how they get things done, regardless of if it's a blockbuster multi-million dollar movie or an in-depth documentary about a non-mainstream band.

On one of the nights, we took Karl to our favorite spot for authentic Thai cuisine, Thai Gulf. Even Art (Winds of Plague) made it out to hang with us (follow L&O on Twitter!) and have his first taste of yellow curry. If you haven't already tried Thai Gulf, I suggest you make your way out to Huntington Beach on Beach Blvd and do it! The owner, John, is the best man in the world!

Karl enjoying some more pad see ew the next day at the office. Left-overs rule.

Turns out Karl had more surprises for us. Surprises that he didn't even remember until we pointed it out.

"Oh yeah, I forgot about that!" Looks like Karl is the first person to immortalize our logo on skin. Thanks buddy! We're flattered, to say the least. I think we need to step it up and get our fix too. Yikes!

Before Karl left, the boys made sure to have a BlackBerry meeting. This is what it looks like.

In the words of the great Jim Carrey as Lloyd Christmas, I hate goodbyes!

Hopefully we'll see you again in January!

- Vince

p.s. Thank you to everyone for their birthday wishes to me yesterday! I feel very loved and lucky to have so many supporting people in my life, whether I know you personally or not. It has been a roller coaster of a year, and I thank you all for the love. It is greatly appreciated, and it means the world to me.

What's my age again? Nobody likes you when you're 23.

All Caught Up

If you haven't noticed already, for the past few days I've been talking about each of the products from our Fall 09 collection. Now that we're at the end, just wanted to thank you for taking the time to learn a little bit about our products. Every shirt design we've ever created has a meaning behind it, whether it's a simple design or complex background story. We want to be more than just your average t-shirt brand so I thought it would be cool to let you inside our heads. It makes the shirts mean more to us, and in turn, we hope it means more to you as well.

Make sure to hit up our ONLINE SHOP and Karmaloop because it's going fast! As you know, we produce in limited quantities and unfortunately some of you had to find out the hard way. DON'T SLEEP!

Now that you're up to speed, it looks like we are too! All this month during our release of Fall 09, we've already been shopping around our Holiday 09 line sheet to a few select retailers. We are very excited to announce our return to the retailer game and when we do, we will also update our select retailers list and give you a little more insight on each of those locations because they do mean a lot to us.

Stay tuned! Holiday 09 is just around the corner, and we've just started working on Spring 10. We have a few collabs and events in the works, including a couple artists, bands, and brands and a Black Friday sale. Not to mention, the introduction of our skate team.

And in 2010, cut & sew is a definite.

Oh dang.

p.s. It would do you some good to start following us on Twitter because we're always telling secrets. You should follow Brian too.

Midnight Society

When we first started this brand, it took a lot of hard work and long hours to get ourselves off the ground and into the limelight. And when I say long hours, I mean LONG hours. We would literally design and print t-shirts all night long in our garage and some nights we wouldn't even sleep. We became nocturnal, like night owls. This design is a tribute to those endless nights where we became our own brotherhood, known as the Midnight Society. And if you like to rage like we do, then you know you only truly live at night. Three cheers for working hard and working late, the night life, and early 90s Nickelodeon.

Conquerors

Veni, vidi, vici! This tee is a tribute to our alma mater and also our hometown of Hacienda Heights, CA. We've always been fascinated by sports team logos and their ability to brand themselves and the "conqueror" logo is no different. One of the most identifiable images of our local community, it's hard to ignore the mean muggin' look on that face. This tee is also a tribute to all small businesses out there just like us, who are constantly grinding and hustling, day in and day out. We came, we saw, and we will continue to conquer.

L&O KILLS.

We released this t-shirt concept over a year ago, and now it's back! But this time, it's back with a vengeance. And a face lift. The last time we released this shirt, it was only a 3 color screen print. After some revisions and a bright idea, version 2.0 now comes complete with a full color print of a cigarette that has met its demise. It has been over 2 years since we've started, and we're going to keep killin' it for years to come. Smoking is bad for your health, and so are we. LOUD& OBNOXIOUS KILLS!

Always Up To No Good

I've always been fascinated by black ops patches and the ambiguous design and imagery that goes along with them so I thought we could create one for ourselves. Since one of our key members is so intrigued and fascinated by knives, I thought it would also be a good opportunity to use that as a bold symbol and centerpiece. We're always up to no good, and we're not hiding it!

Branded

Summer is over and hoodie season is finally back! For our re-introduction back into the fleece game, we decided to keep this one clean and simple. This 100% California fleece cotton pullover hoodie comes complete with branding on the left chest, the bottom right of the back, and both inner sleeves. Perfect for those nights out with your friends or a bonfire at the beach, this hoodie is not too heavy and not too light. Slightly fitted so you may want to consider sizing up if you like your fit a little baggy.

Living Well

If you know us, then you know how much we love sticking it to the naysayers. We know that "revenge is a dish best served cold" but sometimes it's better to be the bigger man and simply let your success do the talking. Don't ever let anyone tell you what you can or cannot do. Do what makes you happy and gives fulfillment to your life because once it's all said and done.. living well is the best revenge.
