Winter 10 Outerwear

We've upgraded our outerwear game once again for Winter 10 and we are proud to say it is the best fleece product range we've ever put together. The garments are top notch and I think a lot of you will appreciate the new details that we've added. With that being said, the highlight of this segment isn't even a fleece product. For Winter 10, we will be releasing a very limited, lightweight faux leather hoodie jacket entitled the Blackout Jacket. Black on black, for the win!

Tyler

Since one of our graphic designers lives in the South Bay, we had to let him give us a rendition on an L&O surf logo. Tyler grew up within minutes of the beach so if anyone knows anything about California coastal culture, it's him. We liked this design so much that we decided to just name it after him. Good job, Tyler!


Unfortunately, we weren't able to take a photo of Tyler wearing his own t-shirt design like Ed, but we'll get him sooner or later.

Palm

Taking inspiration from surf brands of yesteryear, this is the epitome of beach logo t-shirt design. Even the placement and sizing of the prints on the front and back of the shirt are reminiscent of vintage California coast tees. Color fades, check. Palm trees, check. Iconic fonts, check. All you need is some salt water, sand, and girls in bikinis and you're good to go!

Ed Brescia

First off, I apologize on not keeping this blog updated for the past week and a half. It has been a crazy time for us as we are preparing for our first tradeshow appearance, but more on that later. For now, I'd like to introduce you to the newest artist in our team, Ed Brescia. And yes, that is actually him modeling his own t-shirt design. I told you, we're D.I.Y.


When we first met Ed, I knew I liked his style but I wasn't always sure it would fit ours. Luckily, it came time to design our SUMMER 10 collection and Brian wanted to try something we haven't done since we first started the brand. We opted to go with as much color as possible and since we wanted to make it a surf/beach theme, we definitely wanted to make everything as "gnarly" as we could. Go big or go home!

And that's where Ed came in.


The Gnar Tank Top & Tee "When I first met with artist Ed Brescia, the only word that came to mind when I was trying to describe this design concept was "gnar". And wow, did he nail it or what?! Since it's Summer again and we decided to get colorful this time around, the first image I envisioned was a zombie-dude shredding the boardwalk as if he was carving up some waves. Ed keeps it retro with the short longboard and backwards "Never Dead" snapback hat. This gnarly dude looks like he knows how to party. Who wouldn't want to party with him?"


And to further solidify his skills, Ed also brought this piece of artwork to the table. To say the least, we were STOKED.


The Last Wave Tee "Another incredible sketch by artist Ed Brescia depicts a lone surfer riding his potentially last wave. With the wave representing a weapon from medieval times on a giant scale, the surfer knows full well what he's in for so he ditches the surfboard for a coffin. It's the ride of his life and he is ready to take it to the grave. He does not fear death. He fears not LIVING."




You will be seeing more of Ed's work in the very near future. Stay tuned!

Taken Over

For one entire month, we are taking over SwagSyndicate to help promote our Summer 10 collection and make our introduction into the tradeshow circuit. There will be in-depth looks on current products as well as sneak peeks and previews at upcoming designs and garments from the forthcoming Fall/Winter 10 seasons. We may even throw in some quick giveaways and contests for kicks so keep an eye out. Big things are on the way!

All the Way Turnt Up

We'll be in Fullerton TONIGHT at Cantina Lounge to celebrate one of our very own FINALLY turning 21. Ladies and gentlemen, the day we have all been waiting for has finally come. Matthew Apostol can drink! Actually, his birthday is really on Thursday but we're planning a big trip to Vegas this weekend so we thought we'd get the party started early. Plus, big ups to the homie Joel Ricafort for making this happen on such short notice!

The event starts at 10PM and no cover before 11PM! Relaxed dress code and early bird specials before 11PM as well. We'll also be celebrating the release of our Summer 10 collection "Unforgettable Summer" so if you're in the area, come hang out with the entire L&O crew and have a drink with us! We've been working hard for a month straight (literally) and we're ready to kick it!
