Look what I just bought!
It arrives in a few days and I couldn't be more excited! Now I finally get to take all the photos I've always wanted to take. No more borrowing from Jeff or Martin. No more blurry camera phone photos. I'm way too stoked on this.
Big thanks to everyone who emailed me their opinions on the type of camera that I should get. I appreciate your input! You helped me make a big decision haha!
One very valuable thing I did learn in my online adventures to find the right deal was that there are an infinite number of sketchy webstores and only a few truly legitimate ones. I found an "amazing" deal at a website called cameraaddict.com (I don't even want to link it because it's so terrible) and even almost ended up buying it blindly because it was so good. Too good. And like the saying goes, "If it seems to good to be true, it probably is." After consulting a few people, I was told to simply search online for reviews on those websites to see what other customers thought. All the reviews I found were absolutely terrible and apparently many of these online companies use tactics like pressuring the customer and "bait and switch" to trick you into buying more than you bargained for.
Fortunately, after a bit more browsing and researching online, I did find a website called www.bhphotovideo.com that had thousands and thousands of positive comments and feedback regarding their customer service and pricing. I was also happy to find that this website is approved and accredited by the Better Business Bureau. I ended up buying the camera from this website and can't wait to receive it next week! Hopefully I will be one of those satisfied customers I read about. Fingers crossed.
Today's lesson: When it comes to online shopping, make sure you do your research and find out if they really are as reliable and trustworthy as they seem.
