Today is a special day. Do you know why? Well I'll tell you anyway. Today is the first day that I've posted on the LOUD& obnoxious blogspot. But no worries, this is the first of many more to come.
Ok, so bull aside, that's not what made today a special day, haha. Earlier in the afternoon myself, Vincent, Kris, Justin and a few other friends had the opportunity to check out the new Johnny Cupcakes location on Melrose. We showed up at around 1-2pm and waited about an hour before Johnny had the time to let us in and show us around. There were actually about 15 people already there, waiting and camping for tomorrow's grand opening.. which Johnny tells us is going to be quite a memorable day. He's got some surprises up his sleeve for all you eager customers so take my advice and show up early.
The first time Johnny let us into his shop, which was about a month ago, it was empty and had only one major decorative fixture. But today we got to see the whole shuh-bang! Johnny's built up quite the hype for the appearance of his store and definitely did not disappoint. It's the real deal! The shop is modeled after an old fashioned bakery shop with specially custom made fixtures by prop designers from Disneyland and even from big time movies like the newest Indiana Jones. Even if you don't have the time to make it to the grand opening, it's definitely worth a visit to see all the hard work that has been put into the construction of the store. I'm happy for Johnny Cupcakes and his success because he is a down right awesome dude. Once again, check his shop out for yourself and support!
After, we decided to get some sustenance from Chipotle at the Grove. You can't go wrong with burritos, espcially when it's one of the cleanest tasting and lightest feeling burritos around. From there we decided to pay a visit to 5th, The Hundred's art show, held in Korea town. It showcases some of The Hundred's more memorable moments in the past and gives you some inside information about this very respectable company. Inside, they had some of their very first line sheets, very first shirt designs, stories of their humble beginnings, stories of their not so humble hate mail, pictures of their journey as a brand, and new shirts for sale commemorating their 5 year anniversary. It's yet another stop you should plan to make before the end of this weekend, especially if you're in the area.
Johnny Cupcakes and The Hundreds are by far the two most influential clothing brands for me, Brian, and my brother Vincent. They have proven what endless hard work and closely knit relationships with your audience can really do for your brand. Both The Hundreds and Johnny Cupcakes have a die-hard following which not many other brands can claim.. and because of that, I highly respect them. It's days like these that I think to myself, "You're doing the right thing. Don't stop because hard work pays off!" I hope that one day my friends and I can reach a point that we see fit to call "Success with Greatness." But until then, thank you for your contributions on our journey and always, always stay posted!
Thank you for your time and eyes.
