2340 W Whittier Blvd.

2340 W Whittier Blvd. La Habra, CA 90631, is my favorite eatery of all time. Molca Salsa, maybe just another Mexican food joint to some, but a haven to me. The prices, the food, the service, are all reasons for me to frequent this special spot. Let me just tell all you Alberto's, Alerto's, Alfredo's, etc lovers (I was a former Alberto addict), Molca Salsa will BLOW those spots out of the water!

My usual orders include the Carne Asada Quesadilla with rice and a medium drink and an order of 3 rolled tacos with guacamole. The only drink I've gotten for the past 2 years is the Aguas Frescas Jamaica, a nice hibiscus flower drink that just hits the spot with their carne asada. If you're a fan of pink lemonade, they also have THE best pink lemonade on fountain. It's just HI-C but something in their fountain just makes it the BEST Flashin' Pink Lemonade you will ever have (it's locally famous!). If I'm feeling for something a little different I'll get an order of cheese enchiladas and 5 rolled tacos with guacamole and a Jamaica. Or even a carne asada torta with fries and 3 rolled tacos with guacamole and a Jamaica. But I believe the most popular order is the Supreme Fries, a hot bed of fresh french fries with a very heaping serving of carne asada, guacamole, pico de gallo, sour cream, beans, and a nice layer of freshly shredded cheese on top (I believe it's a blend of cheddar and colby jack). The Brian Special is an order of Supreme Fries, no beans, substitute rice. AMAZING! The best part is that it's only $6.00 which includes a medium drink with free refills ($0.50 extra to upsize the drink to a large, which is well worth it so you don't have to get up over and over again for refills). There are 2 other locations that are real close by to this one. However, they are just not the same, indoor dining and no combos with drinks included. Remember to look for the outdoor location with the big triangular sign!

There has been only one occasion where I was disappointed in Molca Salsa. It was the night they ran out of their delicious rolled tacos (by FAR the best rolled tacos for their price I've ever had. $2.29 for 3 with guacamole and cheese on top). I usually get them with every and any order. Other than that, ALWAYS a sure shot at satisfaction.

The best part about Molca Salsa is that it's always a good time! Good conversation with your compadres and a great outdoor atmosphere. For me, it also brings a great sense of inspiration from all the time spent conversating. Molca Salsa has been a place where a lot of great ideas for L&O has bloomed. Design talk, future of the brand, ideas, and concepts have all been shared over the signature plastic tables and gentle glow of the green neon lights.

On Wednesdy the 23rd of July, I am going to attempt to finish their 12 rolled tacos with guacamole and a pound of their rice. There may be a video, or maybe some pictures. All in all, just look out for that update.
